Beautiful pink brooch, fully hand embroidered.
This rose is 36 hours of work.
The petals are slid on the sewing machine and then each petal is sewn by hand. I layer different materials: silk organza, linen, and silk satin, then I attach them to the thread by hand.
I also use old fabrics like toile de jouy.
Some fabrics are dyed with natural dyes (madder, weld, etc.) with bio-mordant.
This rose is a unique piece; it can be decorative in a room, or it can just as well be hung on a mantle to take outside.
I was inspired by old roses based on the drawings of Pierre-Joseph Redouté.
Each rose is sold in a white fabric pouch and soon there will be a pretty box.
